PROFILE OF THE CO-FOUNDERS

Jan E. Muller emigrated from Sweden to the United States in 1962. His career in the corporate communications business made him focus on business and cultural relationships between Sweden and The United States. Muller is a Past President of the Swedish Cultural Society in America and Former President of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in Chicago.

In 1987, Muller founded the Raoul Wallenberg Committee in Chicago. Muller established The International Raoul Wallenberg Humanitarian Award in 1991. The countries of Denmark, Norway and Finland have been official recipients of this coveted award.

In 1999, Muller established and co-founded The Raoul Wallenberg Humanitarian Institute where Muller acts as President and CEO. Muller is also a member of the Raoul Wallenberg International Committee, member of the Executive Board of the Raoul Wallenberg Committee of Greater New York, and Honorary Member of the Raoul Wallenberg Committee in Moscow.

Currently, Muller is in the process of writing a documentary on Raoul Wallenberg, which he plans to put into production in the year of 2004. Further, Muller is presently lobbying for having a Raoul Wallenberg monument installed in the City of Chicago.
