The RWHI has been chartered in Chicago, Illinois. The principal office is located in Chicago and moves with the President to ensure continuity and appropriate representation.
The U.S. operation is organized as a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation. Its future program office will be located in a prestigious locale in the center of the city for the convenience of administration and visiting guests.
A close affiliation with a leading university will be considered. If suitable, an autonomous RWHI office could be housed within the confines of the university. In the future, a Raoul Wallenberg Chair could be proposed in support of the program at the university.
In addition, a five-year operational budget formed as a scholarship foundation will be established in Raoul Wallenberg’s name as a base for the entire initiative of The Raoul Wallenberg Humanitarian Institute. This will be in keeping with the character of the RWHI mission.
